  • Purifying Water
    • The water is supplied from a reservoir usually, passed through metal screens which get rid of debris such as  leaves.
      • Settlement tank is where sand and soil settles out.
        • FLOCCULATION/ COAGULATION. Aluminium sulfate added which makes particles clump together and settle.
          • The water is then passed through a filter bed which filters out remaining particles, insoluble solids.
            • Chlorine is added to KILL bacteria.
