- Purifying Water
- The water is supplied from a reservoir usually, passed through metal screens which get rid of debris such as leaves.
- Settlement tank is where sand and soil settles out.
- FLOCCULATION/ COAGULATION. Aluminium sulfate added which makes particles clump together and settle.
- The water is then passed through a filter bed which filters out remaining particles, insoluble solids.
- Chlorine is added to KILL bacteria.
