    • Jahoda (1958) proposed that the more criteria that an individual fails to meet and the further away they are from realising those criteria, the more abnormal that person is.
    • Strengths
      • It is positive and comprehensi-ve.
    • Limitations
      • It is culture-bound.
      • It sets an unrealistically high standard for mental health.
