      • Hypertext transfer protocol
        • A set of rules for transferring files on the world wide web.
    • HTTPS
      • HTTP secure
        • A set of rules for transferring encrypted files on the world wide web securely. It encrypts data so that it cannot be read if intercepted.
    • FTP
      • File Transfer Protocol
        • A set of rules for transferring files. Heavily relied upon in building websites, moving files from the developers computer to a server.
    • POP
      • Post Office Protocol
        • Protocol used for accessing emails from online locations
    • IMAP
      • Internet Message Access Protocol
        • Allows multiple devices to access the same email account
    • SMTP
      • Simple Mail Transfer Protocol
        • SMTP is used to send emails from one server to another.
    • TCP/IP
      • Transmission Control Protocol/Internet Protocol
        • Two protocols which often work together. They break data into packets, each of which is a chuck of data that knows where it has been sent from and to.
