  • Prague Spring
    • Czechoslovakia  hated Soviet control.
    • Dubcek took over as leader, he was a reformer.
    • Czechs had a poor economy
    • Introduce freedom of speech and reduce government control over industry. This was called Prague Spring.
    • Extreme change meant he received a lot of support.
    • Wanted to stay in the Warsaw pact.
    • Soviets were threated by this reform.
    • Czechoslovakia 500000 soliders invaded.
    • Dubcek was arrested.
    • Czechs were peaceful and even put flowers in their hair.
    • New Soviet leader in power.
    • The Brezhnev doctrine: All eastern European country had to follow communism and if they didn't world war three would begin.
