- 1. Add a drop or piece of your sample to a spotting tile
- 2. Add a drop of iodine to your sample
- 3. Positive result will show blue or black colour
- Sugar
- 1. Add your sample to a test tube
- 2. Add 5cm cubed of Benedicts Solution to your sample and place in the hot water bath for 2 to 5 mins
- 3. Positive result will show a lilac colour
- Protein
- 1. Add your sample to a test tube
- 2. Add 5cm cubed of biuret solution to your sample
- 3.Positive result will show a lilac colour
- Lipids
- 1.Add your sample to test tube
- 2. Add 5cm cubed of Sudan III to your sample
- 3. Then add 5cm cubed of water, place a bung on the top and shake.
- 4. Positive result will show a red ring at the top of the tube
