- Algebra and Functions
- You can simplify algebraic fractions by division
- Can be done by simply dividing or factorising and removing a common bracket
- You can divide a polynomial by (x + or - p)
- Remember to add in missing powers of x; e.g. 0x^2
- You can use the remainder theorem to find the remainder
- If f(x) is divided by (ax-b) then the remainder is f(b/a)
- You can use the factor theorem to find factors
- If f(p)=0; then x - p is a factor
- You can use the factor theorem to find factors
- If f(p)=0; then x - p is a factor
- You can use the remainder theorem to find the remainder
- If f(x) is divided by (ax-b) then the remainder is f(b/a)
