  • Algebra and Functions
    • You can simplify algebraic fractions by division
      • Can be done by simply dividing or factorising and removing a common bracket
    • You can divide a polynomial by (x + or - p)
      • Remember to add in missing powers of x; e.g. 0x^2
      • You can use the remainder theorem to find the remainder
        • If f(x) is divided by (ax-b) then the remainder is f(b/a)
      • You can use the factor theorem to find factors
        • If f(p)=0; then x - p is a factor
    • You can use the factor theorem to find factors
      • If f(p)=0; then x - p is a factor
    • You can use the remainder theorem to find the remainder
      • If f(x) is divided by (ax-b) then the remainder is f(b/a)
