  • Plant Cells
    • Cell Wall: a rigid structure made of cellulose, which surrounds the cell membrane. It supports the cell and strengthens it.
      • Nucleus: an organelle which contains the genetic material that controls the cell's activities. It is surrounded by it's own membrane.
    • Plants are multicellular
    • Nucleus: an organelle which contains the genetic material that controls the cell's activities. It is surrounded by it's own membrane.
    • Chloroplasts: photosynthesis, which makes food for the plant, happens here. Chloroplasts contain a green substance called chlorophyll, which is used in photosynthesis.
      • Vacuole: a large organelle that contains cell sap ( a weak solution of sugars and salts). It helps to support the cell.
        • Cell Wall: a rigid structure made of cellulose, which surrounds the cell membrane. It supports the cell and strengthens it.
        • Plants store carbohydrates such as sucrose or starch
