  • Plant Development
    • Only cells in plants that are mitotically active and in the tissues called meristems.
      • Meristems is found in the areas which are growing of the plant.
        • They produce unspecialised cells that are able to divide and form any cell type. The unspecialised cells can become specialised and form tissues like xylem and phloem.
          • The tissues can group together to form organs (leaves, roots, stems and flowers)
    • Cuttings taken from a growing area of plants can be used to differentiate any cell.
      • This can clone the parent plant.
    • Cuttings won't always grow in soil, you may have to add rooting powder which contains plant hormones to help them grow.
