- 1) Sensorimotor (birth - 2 years old) : Babies learn about the environment and develop early schemas by using all their senses to physically explore the world
- 3) concrete operational (7 - 11 years old) : children use practical resources such as counters for mathematics to help them to understand
- 4) formal operational (11 - 15 years old) : children have the ability for abstract thoughts. They can think rationally and solve problems
- 2) pre- operational (2-7 years old) : children begin to control their environment bye using symbolic behaviour including drawings and pretend play but are not bale to think logically yet
