      • set up joulemeter to power unit and into the heater too
        • measure starting temp + mass of metal block on water on a balance
          • turn on joulemeter and heater + measure energy transferred on joulemeter

          • Calculate density using equation
            • measure mass + fill displacement can with water
              • place measuring cylinder under spout
                • attach string to object and put in can, measure the water displaced
                  • this is the volume of the object  calculate density using equation
    • Force and extension of a spring
      • set up a spring hanging over a clamp stand, with weights on holder hanging below + ruler
        • measure original length of spring
          • add a weight + measure extension
            • repeat increasing weight each time + record weight added/extension
              • repeat and take an average
                • draw a graph and line of best fit, use line of best fit to give extension
