- Physics
- Density- Can tell you how many of it's particles can be squeezed into a given space.
- Gas Pressure- Force that the gas exerts on the walls of its container.
- Solids- strong forces of attraction. Particles close together and vibrate in their fixed positions because they don't have much energy.
- Liquids- Weaker forces of attraction between particles. Particles close together but can move. Have more energy than solids and move randomly at low speeds.
- Solids- strong forces of attraction. Particles close together and vibrate in their fixed positions because they don't have much energy.
- Density = Mass ÷ Volume
- Change of states of matter- Matter can change from on state to another if heated or cooled
- Gases- Almost no forces of attraction between particles. Particles have more energy than liquid/solid.
- Gas Pressure- Force that the gas exerts on the walls of its container.
- Specific heat capacity- the amount of heat needed to change unit of a substance by one degree in temperature.
- Specific latent heat- Amount of energy needed to change 1kg of a substance from one state to another without changing the temperature.
- The formula for energy needed or released is "Energy (E) = Mass (m) x Specific Latent Heat (L)"
- Efficiency = Useful output energy transfer÷
- The formula for energy needed or released is "Energy (E) = Mass (m) x Specific Latent Heat (L)"
- Internal energy- energy stored by the particles that make up a system.
