        • these are the wave lengths in nm that the pigment absorbs
      • they are found in the centre of the photosystem and are known as primary pigment reaction centre

      • absorbs wave lengths of 500-640nm
      • it appears blue/green
    • caratenoids
      • reflect yellow/orange light and absorb blue
      • they pass this energy onto chlorophyll a
