  • Pancreas
    • Exocrine gland
      • These cells are Acinar Cells
        • In clusters around the pancreatic duct
          • The pancreatic duct leads to the duodenum (part of small intestine)
        • Secrete digestive enzymes
    • Endocrine gland
      • These are the Islets of Langerhans
        • Found in clusters around blood capillaries
        • Made up of Alpha and Beta Cells
          • Alpha Cells secrete glucagon
            • Control blood glucose concentration
          • Beta cells secrete insulin
            • Control blood glucose concentration
  • Adrenal Glands
    • Endocrine glands just above the kidneys
    • Contain a cortex (outer part)
      • Secretes steroid hormones e.g. cortisol when stressed
    • Medulla (inner part)
      • Secretes catecholamine hormones
