  • By contracting the lens within the eye (using muscles) the lens enlarges so there is more refraction so that the rays meetg at the retina
    • To focus on near objects the ciliary muscles contractt so that the suspensory ligaments are slackened and the space around the lens gets contracted / condensed. The muscle tension becomes very low so that the lens shape is bigger and more curved.
      • To fovus on far objects, the ciliary muscles relax and so the space around the lens gets expanded. The suspensory ligaments are stretched and the muscle tension on the lens is high therefore the lens is pulled tgin
    • Light rays travel in straight lines and they only change direction when they go into a different material
