- P2 REVISION
- Acceleration
- equation : acceleration= change in speed ____________ time taken
- speed time graphs
- The steeper the gradient of the line, the greater the acceleration (a bigger change in speed in the same time).
- Alpha , Beta , Gamma Radioactivity
- Beta : can penetrate air and paper . It can be stopped by a thin sheet of aluminium
- Gamma : is the most penetrating . Even small levels can penetrate air , paper , or thin metals . Higher levels can only be stopped by many centimetres of lead or many metres of concrete .
- Alpha : the least penetrating. It can be stopped or absorbed by a sheet of paper
- Power
- power = work done ___________ time
- power is a measure of how quickly energy is transferred
- Ohms law
- the greater the number of ohms the greater the resistance
- An electric current flows when charged particles called electrons move through a conductor. The moving electrons can collide with the atoms of the conductor. This makes it more difficult for the current to flow, and causes resistance.
- Hookes law
- The graph showing forces and extensions including the constant gradient
- force = spring constant x extension
- life cycle of a star
- nebula - cloud of dust or gas
- gravity pulls it together - proton star has light ad heat energy
- main sequence star - fusion h ---- > he
- red giant which cools and swells
- white dwarf
- black dwarf
- white dwarf
- super red giant which cools and swells
- super nova which explodes
- neutron star
- black hole - if big enough
- super nova which explodes
- red giant which cools and swells
- main sequence star - fusion h ---- > he
- gravity pulls it together - proton star has light ad heat energy
- nebula - cloud of dust or gas
- action and reaction forces
- Newtons third law
- friction acts in opposite directions
- momentum
- A moving object has momentum. This is the tendency of the object to keep moving in the same direction. It is difficult to change the direction of movement of an object with a lot of momentum
- Acceleration
- small star
- big star
