        • - Longitudinal study testing physical, cognitive and emotional development at 4,6 and 11
        • - Control group of 52 adopted British kids
      • Findings
        • Half of orphans had mental retardation.
        • At 11, those adopted BEFORE 6 months had IQ of 102. Between 6 months and 2 years = 86. After 2 years = 77
        • Those adopted after 6 months had disinhibited attachment
    • Zeanah (2005) BEIP
      • Procedure
        • - Used strange situation for 95 children ages 12-31 months from institutions
        • - Control group of 50 children who never had institutional care
      • Findings
        • - Only 19% of institutional group were securely attached
        • - 65% had disorganised attachment
