  • ONTOLOGICAL ARGUMENT
    • ANSELM
      • 'aliquid quo nihil maius cogitari posit'
        • 1)God's definition is that he's best thing eva, can't imagine better
      • 2)Even a fool who denied his existence accepts this definition.
        • 1)God's definition is that he's best thing eva, can't imagine better
      • 3)It is possible to exist either just in mind or in mind and reality is it not????
        • 4) It is better to exist in both yooooo
          • SOOOO God exists???
            • Nah mate...
              • 'I can conceive a perfect island that is real.'
                • So if it is greater to exist in both mind and reality then the fool would think island exists...
                • GAUNILO
                  • That notion is ABSURD, so is ur argument Anselm u idiot
                    • So if it is greater to exist in both mind and reality then the fool would think island exists...
                    • ANSELM'S RESPONSE: Island is contingent actually mate so can only be conceived as not existing... Also no intrinsic maximum; it can always be bettered unlike my perf God <3

                        • Nah mate...

      • DESCARTES
        • 'Sup I hav my own argument its not great but hey hoo'
        • 1)I can conceive of a perfect being that has all perfections...
          • 2)I must assert all the perfections of this supremely perfect being.
            • 3)Necessary existence is PERRRF
              • 4)Any being that has ever not existed cannot be perfect.
                • THUS, supremely perfect being (God) must exist!!!!!!!
        • As existence was the essence of God and predicate to Him, it could no more be separated from the idea of God than three angles could be from a triangle!!!!
      • KANT
        • Firstly Descartes, existence isn't a predicate!!
          • Saying sumert exists adds no more than to describe something...
            • Yeah if you say a cow is black and white then say its 'black and white and exists' doesn't change the cow cos you can see its existence anywayz
        • All existential propositions are SYNTHETIC NOT analytic.
          • We don't know already that God exists... This predicate isn't intrinsic to God, its attached to him.
        • Anselm's theory may not necessarily be true in PRACTISE.
          • One must first accept existence concept supreme, concept doesn't have to be true in REALITY....
