      • 'The master was a fat healthy man' his wealth is expressed through the mode of address and his stature.
      • The master is later reffered to as Mr Bumble as his power begins to lack as he is in higher company. Bridges the gap between the rich and the poor - he is clearly middle class.
    • Catalyst: The boy who was tall for his age - who threatened to eat the children. Had he not have done this Oliver would not has gained presige over the other children for having to ask 'for more'
      • All the text leads up to the moment of the ask. A new paragraph and fater text structure makes the situation tense.
