    • Soviet - a person or group of people with extreme far left belief's.
      • Stalin signed the treaty because the USSR needed time to rearm for war.
      • Stalin lost faith in the League's ability to protect against agression
      • The policy of Appeasement showed that Britain and France would not protect thrm
      • Britain and France didnt seem to value them as an ally as the USSR werent invited to the Munich Conference therefore needing a new army.
      • Owning territory in Poland would create a buffer zone from any attacks from the west including Germany.
    • In August 1939, Hitler sent Ribbentrop, a senior Nazi to Russia. He offered a Nazi - Soviet Alliance that they would not go to war and would invade Poland and divide it between them.
