  • Nature of Discipleship
    • Jesus made controversial choices for his first diciples.
      • Jesus chose fishermen, who led simple lives, and tax collectors who were outcasts'
        • Their jobs did not matter to Jesus, he might of chosen them because they were ordinary people
    • The five men followed Jesus whole-heartedly and without question
      • They left their jobs, and families just to be with Jesus
      • Christians nowadays believe that they should also follow Jesus whole-heartedly and do whatever he wants them to do
        • They also believe that they too should be 'fishers of men'
    • Jesus told the disciples that they will become 'fishers of men'
      • Instead of catching fish, they will be 'catching' people so they follow Jesus and will be learning and spreading the word of God
        • The five men followed Jesus whole-heartedly and without question
          • They left their jobs, and families just to be with Jesus
          • Christians nowadays believe that they should also follow Jesus whole-heartedly and do whatever he wants them to do
            • They also believe that they too should be 'fishers of men'
    • Like Jesus, christians should accept everyone as disciples, no matter what, it is important that they follow Jesus
