      • 80 million loaned from USA meant GB was 180% in debt compared to its GDP
      • Rise of radical politcal ideals, British Union of Fascists and British communist party.
        • BUF had over 50,000 members
        • This was fuelled by the National Governments decision to cut public workers pay by 10% and introducing the means test to those seeking unemployment welfate.
      • Invergorden mutiny, Sailors of the British Atlantic fleet mutinied in protest to cuts
      • Unemployment rises to 1.8million 1938 due to failure to modernise industry.
