      • put water in boiling tubes
      • test water for starch & glucose
    • Step 2.
      • place starch in visking tube
      • add amylase
      • wash outside
    • Step 3.
      • place starch without enzyme in other visking tube

      • place both visking tubes into separate boiling tubes
      • start stopwatch
    • Step 5.
      • test water around visking tube for starch & glucose
        • every 2 mins
    • Step 6.
      • test water one last time
        • after 10 mins
      • test solutions in visking tubes for starch & glucose
    • Observations
      • starch stays in visking tube
        • too big to go throught semi-permeable membrane
      • amylase digest starch ? glucose
      • glucose in visking tube
        • diffuse out of visking tube
