- The cells in your body divide to produce more cells so your body can grow and replace damaged cells.
- Cells grow and divide over and over again - this is called cell cycle. There are two stages to the cell cycle. Go to Notes.
- The cells physically grows and duplicates its contents
- The cell has to copy everything so that when it splits in half the two new cells will contain the right amount of material
