          • consistent: 36% gave at least one green answer. 8.42% of all responses given were green
          • inconsistent: no significant influence / 1.25% green responses
          • control: 0.25 % green responses
    • Factors that affect minority influence
      • consistency of behavioural style is crucial for minority to have influence
        • minoritys responses must be highly consistent over time ( diachronic consistency) and with each other (inter - individual / synchronic consistency)
        • Majoirty must be aware of this consistency
        • majority must believe that the minority consistency indicated confidence in accuracy of opinion
        • minority need to adapt flexible behaviour (Nemeth, Swedlund & Kanki)
        • Hollander (1961) Dissenters can be influential by accumulating idiosyncrasy credits (brownie points
      • Number of minority members
        • minority influence is most likely in small gorups (6 or less) with minority of 2
        • The amount of influence increases with each additional member but not in a linear fashion; each additional member increases the amount of influence to a lesser extent (ceiling effect)
      • similarity between minority and majority members
        • single minority: a minority that only differs from majority in terms of attitudes
        • double minority: a minority that differs from majority in terms of attitudes and group membership (lless influence than single)
    • Nemeth, Swedlund & Kanki (1974)

      • results: random: no influence correlated = 21% green responses more ingluence in any other
    • Bray, Johnson & Chilstorm (1982)
      • all male or all femlale groups of 6b with 2 confederates
