- Measures of Dispersion
- Definition; they give you an indication of the spread of your data
- Range; difference between the highest and lowest values
- Strengths; easy to calculate
- Weaknesses; does not take all values into account, can be easily skewed by extremes scores
- Standard Deviation; shows to what extent the values in a data set deviate from the mean
- Strengths; all data is used so it is a more accurate representation of the data, accurate in relation to the mean
- Weaknesses; can be difficult to calculate, less helpful in understanding data that is not normally distributed
