  • Marxist/ liberal  feminist views on the family
    • Benston
      • Women produce the next generation of labour and go unpaid in their domestic work, they also satisfy exploited workers sexually so that they are emotionally and physically fit to go back to work
        • Still assumes the worker is male
    • Bott- conjugal roles- joint conjugal roles are duties shared by husband and wife whereas separated conjugal roles means there is a division of labour
      • liberal feminists believe there is a march of progress and that equality has been achieved through legislation- the solution to patriarchy is male education and reform
        • this is criticised by rads as they say libs don't recognise how men benefit from patriarchy and that it is in their interest that it remains.
