  • Marine Erosion
    • Hydraulic action - The sheer pressure of the water upon the rock without debris
    • Wave quarrying - Breaking waves trap air into a gap in the rock face, creating pressure in fissures, which can have an explosive effect
    • Abrasion - Where material is flung at rock faces, important in forming wave cut platforms
    • Attrition - Where rocks in the sea are worn down while suspended
    • Solutions - Weathering can significantly weaken rocks through dissolving the rock + crystal salts that have formed can widen cracks
