    • Extract notes- Macbeth / Lady Macbeth
      • 1.Compares her hands to his. Tries to make him feel guilty for being weaker than her/ coward. Adds to his guilt even more.
        • 2."Be not lost so poorly in your thoughts" . Stop dwelling on that has been done ! No guilt or remorse here from her.
          • 3.Macbeths reply - feels 'safer' in own head instead of face reality. Guilt and remorse here.

    • Macbeth shows more guilt and remorse in  this scene than Lady macbeth does. He is torn up by it.
  • Guilt -in colour and water - metaphors. Making comparison of blood and linked to guilt.
    • Blood - red
      • Water - to wash it away.
        • Ocean - green. Linked to jealousy ( of Duncan)
