- it became very popular so King James I granted them the right to perform at his court

- Macbeth (after battle) comes across the witches with is friend Banquo
- the witches predict that Macbeth will be Thane of Cawdor and King of Scotland and Banquo's children will become kings
- Banquo doesn't believe but Macbeth does
- Macbeth is made Thane of Cawdor by the king for his bravery in the battle
