      • Motorola maintained cell towers free of charge
      • New buildings were built further apart to prevent domino effect
      • Flexible steel frames ere used on high rise buildings
      • Concrete frames were reinforced with steel
      • Bridges were fitted with rubber blocks (to absorb shocks)
      • New laws to makes buildings and transport structures were more EQ proof
      • They now practice EQ drills every year
