    • Regular rallies to recruit new members- they became very popular in the 1920's- particularly with the red scare of communism going on. The kkk super rallies in washington 1923-1924 for example, enrolled 1900 people into the klan.
    • Shop boycotts to try and get all the catholics and blacks out of the communities as they hated them.
    • They were all in the justice system, including polic so this meant that reguarly they determined the decisions on whever people were found guilty and what they were sentenced to. they abused this power particularly with blacks.
    • Fell in popularity after the grand dragon Indiana, david Stephenson, was arrested and sentenced to 25 years in prison for rape.

    • Following the war, the klan developed strong anti-Catholic, jewish, communist and anarchist feelings.
