  • Key question 3 main points
    • Land-use change
      • Buildings increase imperable surfaces. so increases overland flow decreasing water quality. Reduced vegetation reduce biodiversity
    • Traffic congestion and pollution
      • More traffic means more congestion and pollution. Pollutants such as carbon monoxide.
    • Land degredation
      • High populations lead to poorer quality of land.And therefore declining yields.
    • Water pollution
      • Decline in water quality caused by; increased use of fertiliser, illegal dumping of material, accelerated runoff due to concrete. THIS results in lower biodiversity and poorer waterquality.
    • Rural dereliction
      • In areas with population decline, farmhouses become derelict ect, makes countryside look run down and neglected.
