  • Juxtaposition
    • DEFINITION-Juxtaposition is a literary technique in which two or more ideas, places, characters and their actions are placed side by side in a narrative or a poem for the purpose of developing comparisons and contrasts.
    • EXAMPLE- Charles Dickens a tale of two cities- “It was the best of times, it was the worst of times, it was the age of wisdom, it was the age of foolishness, it was the epoch of belief, it was the epoch of incredulity, it was the season of Light, it was the season of Darkness, it was the spring of hope, it was the winter of despair,"
    • EXAMPLE- Life and death, rich and poor, or happy and sad.
    • EXAMPLE- Its a blessing and a curse.
