- Admires Atticus, wants to be like him - Acts like him on multiple occasions.
- Sees himself as brave - Makes self hero in most of games him, Scout and Dill play.
- Intelligent + quick thinking - 1st to spot mad dog and tells Calpurnia.
- More mature than Scout - Knows not to do things for example at the lynch mob he knows she should not have jumped out
- Jem's arm is broken at beginning of novel - want to know what happened
