      • reductionism-idea that we can explain behaviour in biological and environmental ideas
        • Biological reductionism-behaviour solely due to genetics, biochem and structure of the brain
        • environmentareductionism- simplifies behaviour to a resole of a stimulus
      • Holism this side looks at a person as a whole
        • looks at the social context such as family culture ad bill factors
        • could be seen as interactionalisas it suggests all factors have equal importance
    • idiographic and nomothetic
      • ideographiapprroach focuses on an individual and gets info in depth
        • fraud uses case studies such as little Hans but also psychosexual their takes nomotheticapproach
      • nomothetic investigates studies in large number of people which general laws are formulated
        • biological approach - as it conducts research in a lab experimen for cause and effect
