      • Variations of work and rest
        • When working: heart rate needs to be at a high training zone level
        • When resting: heart rate should drop down into the aerobic zone
      • Long-interval training:
        • Used for games players and middle-distance athetes
          • Work for between 15 seconds and 3 minutes at about 80-85% of maximum
            • Rest periods should be corresponding for recovery
      • Short-interval training:
        • Used by racket sports players or sprinters
          • Work for no more than 15 seconds but at maximum levels
            • Rest/recovery should be up to 2 minutes
