- 1986: Los Angeles, USA. These games were a new type of games one that would change the games for ever, as these were the games first to be commercialized and so this made them into being the first ever Olympic games to make a profit this meant that the next games to come along would be highly demand for by a nation and they now realised that the games could make a profit for the hosting country. For example the London 2012 Olympic games made the biggest ever profit any games has ever made as it was widely commercialised. also in the games of 1984 there was another boycott this time done by Russia themselves in retaliation of the US boycott of the Moscow games four years back, but unlike the fifty countries that join the US in their boycott only a handful of countries joined Russia in their boycott.
