- Pro active and Retroactive Interference are supported by many studies which occurred in high controlled lab experiments which gives us confidence that interference is a valid explanation
- There is evidence for interference existing in real-world settings for example you might struggle to remember french if you start learning german
- Interference support is artificial they were conducted in lab settings. Learning list of paired words is not what people do in every day life, which is a limitation as Interference may not be as likely an explanation for forgetting in every day situations
- The Theory gives us an explanation for why we forget, but it doesn't explain how interference happens, it doesn't explain the cognitive or biological process
