  • Importance of William
    • Represents all that Victor could never achieve
    • Represents the innocence and beauty of youth
    • First victim of Victor's creation
    • “sweet laughing blue eyes, dark eyes-lashes, and curling hair” - angelic description to juxtapose with Victor
    • William would have been the polar opposite of Victor if he had ever lived long enough
    • Victor’s reaction to his death is somewhat troubling. Rather than tell who the true killer is, he decides to keep quiet. He hardly even tries to have revenge upon the creature. This may strike the reader as odd since William was his own brother, but this death and Victor’s reaction to is gives insight into Victor’s psyche. It is not until the creature kills Henry that Victor finally tries to come up with a plan to destroy the creature
