- If lessons need to be learnt from excessive suffering, can they not be learnt by fewer people being effected?
- Philosophical questions include, "why so many?"
- Sometimes suffering is not restricted to an individual but to many
- E.g. Medical conditions such as HIV, cancer and malaria. Or things such as genocide
- Believers may struggle to answer the question of what is the point of so much widespread suffering and are there not alternatives?
