    • Plant Growth Regulators
      • Auxins - help vegetative propagation by stimulating root growth in cuttings
        • High doses cause uncontrolled growth and death = used as herbicides
      • Gibberelins - inhibit shoot and root growth and stimulate seed germination and increase fruit size
      • Ethylene - stimulates fruit ripening
    • Animal Hormones
      • BST - increase milk yield in dairy cattle (may have health effects on cattle)
      • Anabolic Steroid Hormones - increase growth rate and gross growth efficiency
        • Growth rate - measure of growth per unit time
        • May remain in meat which can be consumed by humans - girls get premature puberty while men developed female characteristics
