      • They don't have the right to vote
      • Founding Fathers considered banning slavery completely in later generations to solve
      • Caused enormous conflict in the next century and beyond
    • White Americans
      • They are their Forefathers had to come to America from Britain or people from sourthen Europe
      • People could claim to be a citizen in the USA only if they are free, white, and 'of good charector'
      • 60-90% of white males could not happen in the USA
      • Woman, non- citizen and slaves weren't allowed to vote
    • Visions of America.... Signs of disagreement
      • California Gold Rush
      • Migrants would travel over the plains and through the Rocky Mountains and begin to settle in Oregon and California on the Pacific coast.
      • People escaping religious persecutions would settle in the desert at Salt Lake
      • Gold would be discovered in the Rocky Mountains, bringing thousands of people to seek their fortunes in the West
      • 1840, White Americans wanted the land of the West and the animals on it
      • The competing visions of the West held by the White Americans and Native Americans would eventually lead to war on conflict
    • The System of Government
      • The Constitution
        • How the rules state the place should be run
      • The Congress
        • This was made up of people elected from each state
      • The President
        • The USA didn't want a king so they ad a President instead
      • The Supreme Court
        • This court heard the nations most difficult law cases and could not decide if new laws filled the Constitution
      • The State
        • These were ones that were well- populated and had a settled government and governor
      • The Territory
        • These were areas of land without enough people or stability to become a state
