                • After a long time he went back to London
                  • William heard of  Harold Hadrada and went north to face him
                    • Nearly straight after his battle, he had to go back down to the south of England when he heard William had attacked.
                      • Harold's army was at the top of the hill, but had a weak and tired army.
                        • William first tried using his archers but they could not get their arrows up the hill
                          • When he saw his archers were not working,he sent his foot soldiers to attack the soldiers.
                            • However they couldn't get past the wall.
                              • After this, William sent his Cavalry to help,but it didn't work either.
                                • After a long time,his right part of army retreated.
                                  • When Harold's                Inexperienced army (the fyrd) saw this,they ran down the hill after the normans
                                    • Harold tried his best to stop them but he was not strong enough.
                                      • At this point of the war there were only a few hours left till night.
                                      • Harold fought bravely,but died by an arrow in the eye
                                  • William saw this and continued doing this until he whole shield wall had broken.
                                    • Soon,William had the Harold's army trapped and killed them.
                                      • William had won the Battle of Hastings
                        • Harold had formed his shield wall to protect his soldiers.All he had to do now was to wait until the next day when he could get reinforcement.
