- 1511, England had joined the Holy Roman League against France (inc. Spain, Holy Roman Empire and the Papacy
- However, England's army at Boulogne suffered dysentery and drunkeness
- 1513 Battle of the Spurs. Henry lead 300.000 troops. Minor victory. Took Tournai and Therouanne.
- Overall cost 930,000. Gained very little land but did gain prestige. Also let down by Spain and his father in law, Ferdinand of Aragon
- 1514 Anglo French Treaty Made peace with France
- Stated that England would get Tournai. French would pay £159,000 through the Treaty of Etaples. Henry's sister Mary would marry Louis XII
- 1515 Francis I became new King- invaded Italy and captured Milan. Far greater victory than Henry's
