      • The Model T was "an affordable car for ordinary people"
        • They were hard to drive, ugly and slow. Yet they were reliable and built with easy to change parts
        • The car kept getting cheaper
      • By 1926, there were 20 million cars
        • 1 in 2 cars was a ford
      • Thousands of jobs were created
        • 500 thousand jobs were in the car industry by 1925
        • Jobs were made in the industries that supplied materials, not just the car comapnies
          • Estimated that for every 1 worker in the car factory, there were 10 more making the parts needed
      • A new sense of freedom  came to car owners
        • People didn't have to liver near their jobs in the town centre
        • However, so many cars brought pollution, noise and traffic jams
