  • Health and Safety Policies
    • Staff should be aware of what to do in order to promote health and safety for themselves and the service users
    • If an accident occurs in the health and social care setting all staff should know the exact procedures and so be able to deal with the problem immediately
    • Service users in the setting will have a sense of security as they know that these policies are put in place
    • These policies should help to raise the standard of care available as they should lead to a safer and cleaner environment in settings
    • All accidents should be recorded un accordance with policy which allows improvements to be made and the risk of accidents to be reduced in the future
    • Health and safety policies help to protect staff and service users e.g. cross infection should be prevented and safe storage of medication
