        • Regular breaks should be provided to all employees who spend a long time at the computer
        • Share duties so people using the computer get a chance to answer the telephone or file some documents
      • Training
        • It is important that users are aware of the risks and know how to prevent them happening
        • They should be encouraged to change position regularly be moving and stretching
        • Workers should be shown how to organise their work to prevent them spending too long at the computer
    • RSI
      • Keyboards
        • They should be height adjustable so that users can find a comfortable keying position
        • A space in front of the keyboard is useful for resting the hands and wrists when not keying
        • Ergonomically designed keyboards can be comfortable
      • Mouse
        • The mouse should be easy to reach and can be used with the wrist straight
    • Eye Strain and Headaches
      • Focusing on a screen for long periods can cause eyes to tire and cause headaches
      • The monitor should be positioned 20-24 inches from the eyes
      • The monitor height should be so the top of the screen is 5-15 degrees below horizontal line of sight
    • Software Design
      • Background and font colours should not cause strain to the eyes, with good contrast to make text stand out clearly
      • Font sizes should be large enough to read but not so big that the user has to scroll unnecessarily
      • Logical menus
      • Keyboard shortcuts
