      • Alabama is on the verge of passing a near total van on abortion- echos the puritan beliefs of women as "baby making machines."
        • Links to "The Patriarchy"/male dominated world/ women reduced to their reproductive roles
      • Kentucky, Mississipi, Ohio and Georgia have approved bans on abortion once a fetal heartbeat is detected, which occurs around the 6th week of pregnancy
      • This law is possibly to please the increasingly powerful religious right in America. This is a movement that value the importance of traditional gender roles.
      • Many are in uproar as 6 weeks pregnant is an extremely early time frame and could just be a 2 week late period, people claim that the men who write the bill don't know anything about women's bodies.
      • An article on the website "Mary Sue," suggests that women see the new abortion laws as their autonomy being taken away from them, as well as the need to control women's bodies rising
        • Echo Gilidean values
    • Mark Harris
      • Mark Harris us an American Pastor and Politician from North Carolina and was the Republican nominee for North Carolina's 9th district in 2016 and 2018.

        • In the Sermon he said that "Submission is not about inferiority but simply reflects a God-ordained function of things."
          • Similar to the rationalisation of people like Serena Joy/ Aunt Lydia?
    • "Incels"
      • Incels are a community of males who claim to be "involuntary celibate," and that women are purposely denying them sex.
        • They seem to believe that it is there natural right to be able to have sex on demand with young, beautiful women.
      • Incels are extremely misogynistic and treat women not as equal partners to love and respect but as "inconveniently sentient bodies that must be claimed through cold strategy."
        • They see women as merely decorative, sexual objects and believe that male worth is measured by how good-looking a woman they are able to acquire.
      • In their communities, Incels often make very violent threats towards women and some incels such as Elliot Rodger have even murdered women.
        • Incels want to punish women for not being objects that they are able to control to their liking.
