  • Gravitational Potential Energy
    • energy stored in an object by its positional  on the earth's gravitational field.
      • if an object is lifted up then it will GAIN gravitational potential energy.
    • Calculate the change in gravitational potential energy by using:          GPE=m x g x h
      • GPE - gravitational potential energy (J)       m - mass (kg)    g - gravitational field strength (N/kg)              h- change in height (metres- m)
    • Power - the rate of energy transfer.
      • power can be calculated by  P= E/t
        • P = power (w)      E = energy (j)   t =time taken (s)
