    • transportation: the movement over a very large distance

    • deposition: ice melts, dropping the material on the ground
    • rocks of all shape and sizes are mixed together
    • lateral moraine: at the side of the glacier
    • medial moraine: the center, where two glaciers met
    • terminal moraine: snout of glacier. semi-circular mounds.
      • drumlins: 1000m long, 500m wide and 50m high. blunt and steep- upstream. pointed and gently sloping- downstream.
    • ground moraine: thin layer of material.
